The service

Octet Operator is a professional training platform for AV/broadcast network engineers. Access to the full curriculum, tools, and credentials is provided under the subscription plan you select; some content is available free under the prescribed path.

Credentials

The “Certified Octet Operator” credential is self-issued by Octet Operator (MMCX LLC) based on demonstrated competency. It attests to completion of the relevant competency track. Credentials may be revoked if issued in error or obtained through misuse; a revoked credential is shown as revoked on its public verify page.

Acceptable use

Don’t attempt to forge, resell, or misrepresent a credential, or to circumvent entitlement gating. Content is licensed to you for your own professional development.

Usage Analytics

If you turn on Usage Analytics (off by default), the app sends pseudonymous product-usage and error events to our analytics provider, PostHog, hosted in the EU, so we can improve the app. We do not collect your name, email, or the answers you give in the app through analytics. You can turn analytics off, or sever this install’s analytics identity, at any time in Settings. Our handling of this data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Competitive Leaderboard & Fair Play

When you submit a Save the Show daily result to the global leaderboard, you agree that we may record and validate your submission — the decisions you made and their timing — to rank your entry and to detect and prevent cheating. This collection supports the competitive feature and is not governed by the Usage Analytics setting; it is described in the Privacy Policy. We may remove leaderboard entries, and restrict leaderboard access, where we reasonably determine that a submission was manipulated or otherwise violates fair play.
